1.The club shall be called “Old Owens Football Club”.
2.The football club was formed to provide its members with a good regular game of football, of a standard and quality of sportsmanship that satisfies the majority.
3.Membership shall be open to all past and present pupils of the school, or any Associate member of the Old Owens association. An individual may be deemed to be a member of the OOFC when he has paid his annual subscription to the club and when he is a full or associated member of the Old Owens association, and/or is an elected/co-opted officer of the club.
4.The Club’s financial year shall be from the 1st August to the 31st July next.
5.An Annual General meeting (AGM) shall be held to determine the officers elected to the Executive Committee. The date to be determined by the Executive. At least 28 days notice of the AGM must be given to every member. Nominations for elected officers and club officials must be notified to the Secretary in writing, proposed and seconded, at least 14 days before the AGM.
6.The management of the Club shall be vested in the Executive Committee which shall be composed of the following: Chairman, Secretary, Fixture Secretary, Treasurer, Club Captain, 1st Team Manager, Veteran’s Representative and two elected members and shall meet regularly on a monthly basis. A quorum on behalf of the Committee shall be at least four members. (In the event of a tied Committee vote, the Chairman will have the casting vote).
7.The executive committee shall have the powers to co-opt additional members onto the Executive if required.
8.The annual financial report and Statement of accounts audited to the 31st July, shall be circulated to the membership as soon as is practically possible after the AGM. An honorary auditor shall be elected for each current year.
9.The Annual Subscription and match fees shall be agreed at the AGM.
10. The teams shall be selected by a Selection Committee. Members of this committee to be nominated by the Executive Committee.
11. The Secretary is empowered to call a Special General Meeting at his discretion, and must also do so at the written request of a minimum of ten members. The Secretary shall also have discretionary powers to act for and on behalf of the club if in his opinion a decision must be made before the next Executive Meeting. This does not apply to financial matters except club fines.
12. A member who violates the constitution, or who is guilty of conduct likely to bring the club into disrepute may be liable to suspension from the club by the Committee until the new AGM, when he may be expelled by a majority vote of those members present.
13. Amendments to the constitution can only be made by a majority of those present at the AGM. Notice of intention to propose an amendment must be sent in writing to the Secretary, proposed and seconded at least 14 days before the date of the AGM.
14. The rules of the Football Club, will be those laid down by the Football Association.
15. Members of the Football club are bound by its existing disciplinary code, which is registered with the AFA and is contained within a separate document. This is agreed on by Club members present at the AGM. Any proposed changes to the existing code must be made in writing to the Secretary, proposed and seconded at least 14 days before the AGM.
